Armor Trim
Armor Trim is a newer feature that came out in the update in 1.20. It is a welcome change to the world of Minecraft allowing us that extra customization that we have been looking for with our armor. Now we have the opportunity to change the standard Armor look into many different variations wether it be a full set of the same Armor trim or a Mix of different armor trims. Just a quick note, the Armor Trims do not add any hit point value it is just for looks.
Below I have put together a guide of the armor trims to help guide you adventures and so you know what is needed to use them.
* 1st tip, I recommend that make a copy of any trim before you use it, unlike the banner templates it is a one use item then disappears, if you want to be able to use it over and over again you will need to copy the template and keep one safe so you can always do it again if you wanted to.*
Types of Armor Trim
Currently there are 16 different types of Armor Trims that you can obtain in Minecraft.

Applying Armor Trims
You can put it on all 7 types of Armor, Neitherite, Diamond, Gold, Iron, Chain & Leather using a Smithing table, you also needa material (color) you want to use. You can use the following 10 items as Material:
Amethyst Shard
Copper Ingot
Diamond
Emerald
Gold Ingot
Iron Ingot
Lapis Lazuli
Netherite Ingot
Nether Quartz
Redstone Dust
Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template
The Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template is now the only way you can upgrade your armor to netherite, just like the Armor Trims it can only be used once, so make sure to duplicate it before you use it.
To duplicate it you will need 1 Netherite Upgrade Template, 7 Diamonds and 1 Netherrack Block.
The Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template is located in the Bastion Remnant and has the following chances to be looted
Hoglin Stable Chest - 10% Chance
Generic Chest - 10% Chance
Treasure Chest - 100% Chance
Bridge Chest - 10% Chance
